B
B-6, whole B, B-12. Researchers have found that pregnant women who take between 10 and 25 milligrams every eight hours get varying degrees of relief from their morning sickness. I know lots of studies say this is THE cure. One study says that relief is within the first few doses, another source states it must be taken 200 mg/day for a week to see the effects.
Foods that contain Vitamin B naturally are: nutritional yeast, yogurt, bee pollen, spirulina, wheat germ, whole grains, egg yolk, cabbage and organically raised organ meats. And the herb Oatstraw.
A nagging question I have is, “What if it is a lack of the body being able to absorb and utilize the B vitamins in the first place that may be the nausea culprit? SO, in that case, ingesting more of them will not help, but finding what can help your body metabolize them. So, I feel best taken with enzymes.
Bananas. Bananas are recommended quite frequently. If sliced and then frozen, and sucked on, they could help when you feel you are able to keep something down. I ate them a la baby style mentioned below.
Baby Food. The smallest jars of plums, bananas, or apricots were sometimes my main meals for the day. Compact, ready to go, and easily available to keep something in my stomach. Use a plastic spoon.
Baths. As your body absorbs water from a warm bath, then your system can help rehydrate itself. Put apple cider vinegar (1 cup) into the water to help balance ph levels, or some aromatherapy of lavender or lemongrass to help soothe you.
Beans. I’ve never tried this as a remedy, but have ladies recently write to me affirming this was their cure. The website of interest is mentioned in my resource section.
Beet Kvass- Purported for use as a digestive aid, blood tonic, liver cleanse and more. Take 3 medium organic beets and chop coarsely, add ¼ cup whey, 1 TB sea salt to a 2 quart container of filtered water. Put a lid on it and let it sit on the counter for 48 hours. Then the liquid can be strained and consumed. To make more liquid, just add more water to the same beets and refrigerate. After second batch, start over with fresh beets. One lady I talked to holds fast to the benefits of this remedy. Found in Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon (P. 610)
Bentonite Clay. This absorbs toxins in your stomach. If it’s toxins that are the cause of your nausea this would help.
Betaine HCI. If you feel bloated or queasy after eating, especially protein foods, and you crave sour foods, than you may be deficient in hydrochloric acid. The suggested dose is 1-4 tablets with each meal. Begin with one tablet, and if you experience discomfort stop taking it. How would you know if the discomfort is regular pregnancy nausea or because of the supplement? I don’t know.
Bland Foods. Potatoes, oatmeal, crackers, dry toast, dry cereal (Cheerios), rice, rice cakes, pasta,…The most popular advice everywhere! Non-upsetting to stomach.
Brewers Yeast... for the vitamin B. Best to start on this before the gag reflex becomes prominent.

Right after my first pregnancy, the very first phone call for help I received began like this, “I’ve never known anyone with morning sickness as bad as you.
